Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 08:50 AM UTC
Hi l am wanting to go to KL via Bali and need some advice please firstly which would be the best route to take? I was thinking of going to bali visiting there first then transfering on AirAsia to KL, Dont know if this is the best way to do it?
Then need advice on a hotel our requirements would be suited for a family of 4 2 adults 2 children 12 and 10 so if anyone knows any hotel that would cater for that please.
We would like to be near the mono rail, towers the major shopping malls, famous shopping like china town as this is our first time to KL am a little worried will get lost.I know perhaps wont be able to find a hotel that suits all the above but any help is appreciated.
Also l was reading we could catch a taxi from the LCCT straight to our hotel? if so how much should l pay? Sorry about all the questions .
Thanks in advance.

HI!

To be near the malls, you'll likely to stay near KLCC or Bukit Bintang.
Not sure if an apartment is what you are looking for - The Crown Regency Apartment is featured on my VT KL pages...if you care to take a look. It's very near KLCC/Petronas Towers.

Usually AirAsia offers cheaper fares but do check other airlines too.

Incase you take Air Asia, you will arrive at LCCT from where you can take a airport bus that charges you RM9 (Some RM8)to KL Sentral. From KL Sentral you can takea taxi to your hotel.Incase you take a taxi from LCCT,it will cost you more depending upon location of the hotel.

Had you told your budget for the hotel, it would be easy to suggest a suitable location.Wherever you stay it is not a problem in KL because transport system is quite good and people are helpful.

Suggest you to check KL hotels in Tripadvisor.com where you can find reviews of hotels.

Have a nice trip.

AirAsia Planes would be landing in KLCC airport. There will be buses there that would take you to the KL Sentral Station. Taxi would also be available, the rates would be according to the location of your hotel. It would be a lot cheaper if you go by bus. Free Kuala Lumpur maps are also available in KLCC. So better get hold of that.
From KL Central, you can take taxi to bring you to your hotel.
Most hotels would cater only for two adults, and additional payment for the kids. If you are looking for a hotel near shopping malls, then choose one that is in Bukit Bintang. There is a monorail (KTM KOMUTER) on that place. It is a bit far though from the Petronas Twin Towers. Hotels in Bukit Bintang will range from 5-star to 2-star.
If you plan to go to both Chinatown, and Petronas, and other attractions in Kuala Lumpur like the Bird Park and Titingwasa Lake, I would suggest you go by the Hop-on hop-of bus. It costs 38RM per person. This bus will take you to all tourist destination in the city.
I still have the contact number of our taxi driver in Kuala Lumpur. He is Mr. Lee. I could give you his number if you like. He is very nice person, and also very accommodating. He can serve both as your driver and your tourist guide.
Just inform me if you want his contact number.
ENjoy your vacation!
