hi
can anyone advise about the options available for travel within malang area and surroundings - can taxis or any form of transportation be hailed from the road side or from designated taxi stops or we have do it any other way. our objective is to move around within the town and visit some of the interesting sights in the region. regards musaphir |

Hi Musaphir,
Mikrolet(local minibus) is the main public transportation in Malang. They have several routes and you can find easily from the main road. For detailed available route you can find at: http://www.pemkot-malang.go.id/transportasi.php and http://www.pemkot-malang.go.id/database/petunjuk/J Unfortunately there is no English version, but hopefully you can understand it. Sometimes their route is a bit confusing, particularly for the first time visitor. There is also available mikrolet between Malang and Batu, which is operated from Landungsari terminal. It is a bit difficult to stop taxi from the road side as it is quite rare, but you can find it at taxi range near the shopping centre, main hotel, or city centre.
