I live in Cadiz and being a Brit, I occasionally take a day trip over to the Rock to stock up on teabags, crumpets and co.

Im thinking of coming soon and buying a GPS system for a motorbike (not the scooter in the picture). Can anyone tell me where I can get the telephone or email contacts for an electrical shop in Gib to call beforehand to see if they have any, their prices, etc.

I recently bought a GPS, the TomTom One for my car, and it actually worked out cheaper for me to buy in Spain than in Gibraltar, but I do get refunded the IVA. Try the following

Be aware that most electrical and electronic goods are actually more expensive in Gibraltar than most other places.
There is the misconception (now there's a long word!) that with Gib being duty free, everything is cheap; no so I'm afraid. Low prices apply mainly to cigarettes and alcohol but for computer stuff, cameras, watches, games consoles, audio equipment etc you may actually pay more than in UK or other EU countries.

Thanks for all your replies...I think we're going to borrow a friends for this trip and buy in the future when the price of the bike ones come down a bit.

Don't buy electical goods,computers,cameras etc. in Gib.I made this mistake on a previous visit and paid £40 more for a camera than my friend did on the internet.
