Does anyone know if it's still possible for a US national to get a "day trip" visa (the one that only allows you to stay in the country until the end of the day on which you entered) at the Victoria Falls/Livingstone border checkpoint? I'll be staying in Victoria Falls for several days in late July and would like to take one day to see things from the Zambian side and check out Livingstone - but if it's true that US nationals are now only eligble for the US$135 multiple entry visas, that becomes a pretty pricey day trip! If anyone has been there recently, an update would be appreciated.

You can still get a day pass for $10 at Vic Falls. They are mad, but they aren't crazy. Shutting off the day trippers would cost them a lot of money.
