| Zadar | Getting to Zadar by bus from Split - need to book? Posted: Wed June 11, 2008 05:26 PM UTC
Hi,
I am going to the Garden festival in Petercane (just outside Zadar), and am travelling up from Split after spending some time on Hvar. My question is can I just turn up at Split airport and jump on a public bus, or will I need to have booked in advance due to the time of year(i.e early july) Finally, if anyone knows roughly how much the bus costs that would be really appreciated too! Any advice very is very appreciated. Thanks, Joe |

You don't need to book. Just hop on the first bus that heads in the right direction. Best is to take a local bus to Trogir and take the bus to Zadar there. This because buses to Split do not end at the main Split bus terminal, and changing buses at Trogir save you a longish walk with all your luggage.

Hey K_V_B,
many thanks for the response. Sorry if I'm being a bit slow, but bearing in mind that we will be right beside Split bus station, surely it would be easier to get on the bus there, and go direct to Zadar, rather than have to change? I don't understand what you mean about the long walk. Sorry if i'm being slow!! thanks again, Joe

I think because you wrote "my question is can i just turn up at Split airport...." (-:
Anyway from the bus station in Spilt there is plenty of busses to Zadar, you don't have to book. I don't know exact price but would guess around 80 Kuna regards Morten

The reason for suggesting Trogir as a transfer point is that in Split the local buses stop at one bus terminal, the long distance buses at another and the airport bus has its own stop too....
So if starting out at the airport (as I first though) it makes more sense to go to Trogir, if the final destination is somwhere along the coast west of there.
