Penang Halal Local Hawker Food
Posted: Wed June 11, 2008 05:00 PM UTC
Hi VTers,

We've been out for local hawker food in Penang on various occasions when we visit Penang but we didn't pay attention to where there are Halal local hawker food other than Gurney Drive.

Where can we go for Halal local hawker food for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

:)

I suppose you can get halal hawker food at Esplanade, next to the children playground. The one next to the field open during lunch hour and the one next to the Dewan Sri Pinang (opposite) is opened for dinner. Dinner for halal food is at Bayan Lepas (Factory Inventec area) along the roadside, lots and lots of "Panggang Fish".

Dear KK,
Yes, assuming the stall is owned by a Malay or Indian Muslim, it would be Halal InsyaAllah.
What are you looking for specifically? Maybe we can recommend some for you.
I blog about eat out places, and try to put a note if it's Halal here.
