| Buenos Aires | Retiro Bus Terminal Posted: Tue June 10, 2008 04:21 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning to take the long distance bus (Andesmar) from BA to Puerto Madryn. I heard that Retiro is a huge bus terminal and will take time to get one's bearing. Has anyone been to Retiro and if so, would you know: 1. How to get to Retiro from the Obelisk? 2. Where to buy a bus ticket i.e Andesmar? 3. Is the queue usually long? 4. Where to catch the bus - is it a long walk from the ticket office? 5. Is there baggage storage facilities available? Many thanks |

Hey there - here are a couple websites which will answer some of the questions you have - the second of which is the official website for the station and includes a full layout of the station, as well as detailed information about the various services and facilities provided.

1.- the best is to take a taxi, because city buses are very crowded. About ten minutes from the Obelisco.
2.- Ticket office number 27 in Retiro Bus Station, upper floor. 3.- dont know. 4.- the people at the ticket office will indicate you the platform numbers where your bus will stop to meet the passengers, in the middle level of the station. Not far, go down the stairs. 6.- yes, there are.

Thanks for the feedback. Considering these bus journeys are pretty long, I would certainly like to freshen up beforehand. Are there shower facilities in Retiro Terminal and if so are they good to use?

Also, I need to get a taxi to Aeroparque airport - would it be best to take a remise? Also would Manuel Tienda Leon take me there? Where can I find their ticket office and to catch the bus/remise?
Thanks again in advance
