Geneva What is name of train co. to go to Yverdon les Bains?
Posted: Tue June 10, 2008 01:57 PM UTC
I am travelling to Yverdon les Bains tomorrow night. Is the name of the train company to go there- SBB? Please write a link, so that I can check schedules and prices for tickets.

I am arriving from Lyon, and taking the TER train for 22 euros, taking about one hour and a half. Is that reasonable?
thanks

If you're starting in Lyon the train operator might just as well be French Railways (SNCF) as Swiss (SBB), but since you have to change in Geneva it will almost certainly be SNCF to there and then SBB from there on. In any case all European train operators get their data from the Hafas database run by German Railways so all their websites will give you the schedules of the others (though not necessarily the prices, where for international trains you need the website of the train operator of the country you will be leaving from, i.e. SNCF-voyages).
I don't really know what you are talking about with regard to the TER train for 1 1/2 hours, since DB website (Hafas) shows that this journey takes 2h58 from Lyon Part Dieu to Yverdon-les-Bains, and it's an RE (Regional Express) up to Geneva and then IC (InterCity) from there.
