1. I have not heard of any free shuttle between JB and Orchard Road.
2. A Vista Melati is a no-frills hotel located just across a small street from City Square. Alternatively, Compact Hotel, Puteri pacific is a mere 5 min walk from City Square.
3. You can catch bus 160/170 from JB to Singapore Kranji MRT very easily. Just avoid the peak hour crowd in the early morning and evenings.
4. Puteri Pacific is just nearby the Larkin Terminal.
5. You can catch the coach that ferry you from the City Lounge at the Larkin Bus Terminal directly to the Senai Airport. There are specific bus departure schedules.

Puteri Pacific is in the city centre. It is nowhere near Larkin. Perhaps you were referring to another bus terminal near Puteri Pacific (Don't know what's the name). Nevertheless, most buses from Singapore would pass by not too far from Puteri Pacific. The taxi station is also within walking distance.

I don't think there's any decent hotel near Larkin. Larkin is the main bus terminal of JB where the bus from Singapore end its journey. This is also where you can hop on to buses that connect to other cities in Malaysia. Larkin is about 15 - 20 km away from the city centre. It is also connected to Senai Airport via a shuttle service.

Are you able to check hourly rates for a room in compact or vista melati? Am a foreigner going to JB for a short stop before heading further up. Am 17yrs old and would like to know if i can get a room without company of 18 and above since i am a tourist.
