WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO FIND A PRIVATE CAR/DRIVER FOR SHORT
TRIPS AROUND MOSCOW? I WAS INTERESTED IN ALSO FINDING A GUIDE TO HELP POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I DID THAT IN LITHUANIA, POLAND, DENMARK AND GERMAN AND IT WORKED OUT REALLY GREAT. I SAW AN AD IN WAYTORUSSIA FOR A PERSON NAMED 'IGOR' WITH A JEEP CHEROKEE, BUT THEIR FORM FOR BOOKING HIS TRANSPORTATION SERVICE DID NOT WORK. ANY SUGGESTIONS THAT MIGHT HELP? THANKS! |

Maybe you should hire a taxi, http://taxi99.ru/ is a good one, having Hyundai Sonata and Elantra. Prices vary from $15 for a short 40 minutes trip to $50 for two hours.
Another good taxi is http://www.nyt.ru/vip/ with Opel Vectra, it has combined pricing but is about the same.

There are usually a lot of taxis/ private cars waiting for tourists at every Moscow airport, and their drivers usually speak English, if it is international airport. You can ask them if they would be interested to do this. I am sure, someone will.
We did the same thing in Thailand. If you'd call to a Moscow's taxi company, they might not speak English. About a quide, there are plenty travel agencies, I recommend Intourist agency, this is the oldest one: http://www.intourist.com/ENG/MOSCOW/info.shtml http://www.intourist.com/ENG/index.shtml
