I am starting to plan for the summer of 2009 and want to spend a week on Sifnos. Can anyone recommend apartments or studios with kitchen in Livadi. Thank you

I enjoyed a few days on Serifos in 2006, and plan to return, but must say I don't really like Livadi as a place to stay... the beach is unswimmable ... have you checked out Livadakia area? Just walk straight in from port area, to the left & up over a rise, and whoopps! there's a DREAMY beach! COralli Bungalows is THE place to stay... little whitewashe units w. individual porches... there's a camping area but not intrusive & it's right on the beach!! I mean RIGHT on it... golden sand, no sun-loungers, tamarisks for shade. Bliss. Unfortunately no kitchenettes. Are u requesting kitchen as a money-saver? Shopping in Serifos is v. limited since they don't grow too much of own stuff-- too dry. markets are dependent on boats.

I was checking on this for someone else, and came across Beaufort rooms & apts this is the hilltop overlooking both Livadi & Livadakia... it gives room prices but not the apt. prices http://www.vacation-greece.com/hotels/cyclades/serifos/beaufort/
-- ALSO Rough GUide lists VASO ROOMS "Close to the Beach (Livadhakia) spacious doubles &triples, some w. kitchens, all with balconies 22810 51346". Anything near that beach is GOLD... I would phone if I were u are u in Europe??

In Sifnos, I recommend staying in Appollonia... good bus network to everywhere. Beach (Vathy) is nice aside from monster newish luxe hotel that hogs the best stretch of sand (who did they pay off?). But w.o. car, busses are few. I like being up on mountain looking down... & good hikes strt from there.
