| Malta | How do I get there? Posted: Wed June 4, 2008 01:06 PM UTC
Anyone know a cheap way to get to Malta from London (or UK at any rate), leaving endish-July returning mid-Aug? I note that regular BA fare is almost the same as to Hong Kong!
Is it worthwhile to go via somewhere else, eg Brussels? Are there any ferries other than to Sicily? Eg. Spain or N Africa |

check out www.teletextholidays.co.uk for cheapo deals - some listing show flight only from London to Malta as late deals and are resonable priced - although the nearer you get to our school holidays the dearer these deals will become
also try chevronair to see what they offer hope you sort it julie

Did you try Easyjet. It would cost about 220 pounds or more roundtrip.

Easyjet from Gatwick is around 350 return for your dates (the departure date is quite near, in budget carrier terms).
You could also try Ryanair from Luton, Germanwings from Stansted or http://b2c.britishjet.com/ from several UK airports. They can do it from Gatwick for around 200, seemingly (though they fly on 26th, not 27th). There's also Thomsonfly, but they tend towards being pricey imo.

I also checked the dates of departure from Easyjet and the most I saw was 260 pounds return with 220 being the lowest.

Thanks, but I included the word "cheap" in my question. Currently my friend is researching the internet full time, and he comes up with things like this:
What about 21/7 Birmingham to Bologna 12.10 to 15.15 38.46 pounds 24/7 Pisa to Malta 16.40 to 18.20 35.00 euros I was hoping to find easier and cheaper with other routings. Cheaper means a lot less than £100 one-way. Maybe fly to Sicily and catch a ferry from there.

nothing doing in your price range unfortunately - from anywhere at the moment
you may like to keep checking teletext -on the TV also - once in england as some agencies may bucket last minute spare seats that will be the only way to get ultra cheapos to Malta - its only as couple of years ago i can remember very last minute HOLIDAYS in Malta for peanuts Maybe someone heard we were looking at going to Malta this year and thats why the price has gone throught the roof never mind back to good old rhodes again ( like i would dread that thought - not) LOL Julie

We are going with Cosmos holidays - from Birmingham - at the end of June.
The reason I say this is that the brochure lists those airports flying to Malta with Air Malta. This may assist you in choosing an airport where you can book with that particular airline.
