Goa Will visa surgeries still be held as listed by the IHC?

Hello VT Members,

Some weeks ago I downloaded a list of visa surgeries set out by the IHC. Does anyone know if these surgeries are still going ahead or not?

Thanks Sunglow.

Hi Sunglow

If you use the web page link for visa surgeries (www.hcilondon.net/visa/visa-surgeries-schedule-08.html) for this year, it now directs to VFS Global website. It would therefore appear that they might now have ceased the surgeries as per the announcement last year.

It will be at least two weeks before I can contact my Indian friend who can tell me exactly what is happening as he is currently visiting his relatives in India. If you know the name of the centre in Manchester where they intended holding the surgery, it may be well worthwhile giving them a ring to see if they still have a booking for the date. I have just tried contacting the centre in Blackburn, were we usually obtain our visas. The person in charge of bookings is currently off work sick, but the person I spoke too said they still appear to have a provisional booking for the date in December.

Sorry, I know this is not really helpful, but if I find out any further news I will contact you either on or off site.

Dave

Hi Dave,
This info is for friends in the Yorkshire and Liverpool areas. They are elderly and do not have computer skills to obtain the info. I have already printed off the info and send it to them with the appropriate dates in their area. They are long stayers and usually fly out to Goa the next day after obtaining their visas.

Yes please, if you can find out from your friend if these surgeries are still to go ahead or not would be most helpful and would avoid confusion.
Thanks Sunglow.

Hi Sunglow,

I have just received a telephone call from the Community Centre in Blackburn stating as far as they are concerned the visa surgery is still booked for Saturday 13th December. However, from what I could gathered for the young lady who rang me, they only confirm the actual booking a few weeks before hand.

I have also checked the Indian Associations website in Manchester (http://www.indianassociation.org.uk/CALENDAR%20OF%20EVENTS.htm) and they are still listing a surgery for Saturday 2nd August.

If you know the names of centres in Yorkshire and Liverpool where they obtain there visa, it may well be worthwhile giving them a ring to see if they still are expecting surgeries to take place and when.
