Majorca Island Spanish resorts
Posted: Tue June 3, 2008 10:04 PM UTC
I have had some great family holidays in Majorca over the years but now as we are traveling alone I am looking for any resorts that are not dominated by the British or the Germans.
Are there any resorts that one would regard as a typical Spanish resort preferably on the coast?

Regards

Geoff

Hi,
looking a few years ago for a quiet, not overcrowded by British, German and Austrian, but very nice place in Majorca I found the "Hotel Vistamar" near Valdemossa. It is an old, well refurbished Finca and restaurant amid olive- and pine-woods, overlooking the sea.The 3 times I stayed there, I met only Spanish and some French people. The famous village of Valdemossa is near, about 1,5 kms distance.
If you need a quiet but relaxing stay, it may be the place you are looking for!

Hi

Have you been to the south east of the island? Ther is a resort called Colonia San Jordie which has some of the best beaches on the island! You can check out the area by looking at videos of Es trenc on Utube, also Hotel Migjorn video on utube gives a good idea of what the are is like. Lots of villages with local restaurants. Sa Rapita is also close by and that is very typical. No hotels but you can rent apartments from local people.
