Mazatlán Travel Forum

We are planning to be in Mazatlan at Christmas. Does anyone have suggestions about what a family can do on Christmas Eve? Are most restaurants open? What about Catholic church services? Are there any children's events?
When we were in Mexico City at Christmas, there were many carnival-like booths in the park and many people out with their families and having their pictures taken during the early evening on Christmas Eve.
Does Mazatlan have anything like this? Also, are there posadas or Christmas plays during the week before Christmas? We will have our children and grandchildren with us and would appreciate any information or suggestions.

Quite a few resturants are open for both christmas and New Years, try special events at maztravel.com. There is a big Catholic Church downtown, that is were I am going with my family for mass. But also think about getting decorations from the local Walmart, and make your space somthing special for the kids. I don't know about your children, but mine love just poking around downtown there is always somthing going on.
