I'm currently living/working in Seoul, Korea. I have vacation the last week of July, and my girlfriend and I are thinking about going to Vietnam. What's the weather like that time of year? I've heard it isn't as rainy in Hanoi as it is down south, but we'd really like to spend a good amount of time at the beach, and I know most of the best beaches are in the South. Is it too rainy that time of year to head south and hope for good beach weather?

what beaches would you suggest in the north? everything i read online says everything that's wrong with the beaches up north and how they don't compare with the beauty down south. i'm sure that's not an accurate picture, but it's all i'm finding.
