Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Brevant Gondola
Posted: Tue June 3, 2008 02:01 PM UTC
My son is running the Marathon du Mont Blanc on 29th June. We have heard the Brevant lift is closing until December 2008 is this correct. As the finish is on Planpraz and the runners at the finish and spectators would need to use the lift to get to and from Pranplaz will it still be open for the Marathon. Any information would help. Thank you.

Both the lifts from Chamonix to Planpraz and from Planpraz to the Brévent are closed this Summer. But I have the idea that the lifts will be open for the special occasion end June. See on http://www.montblancmarathon.net/index.php?rub=36 and click "accompagnants" in "English version".

As you probably know, they were not open to going up, only coming down. Sorry! The Flegere lift was the closest one to the end of the race. Of course one can always walk up the hill - only a couple of hours effort!
