| Macao | PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION W/IN MACAU Posted: Mon June 2, 2008 06:12 PM UTC
hello,
i'd like to ask if there's a site where i can search for public transportation within macau. i'm currently doing our itinerary and we would like to ride on buses from one place to another. for hongkong i found a site where i also searched for public transportation that's why i was able to assess our budget before going to hk. is there also a website in macau where i can get all necessary informations also? i already have here the complete itinerary the only thing missing is the fare & bus #s that we should get. this would be helpful for me to assess which of the itineraries should go first and which should be the last. Thanks |

The buses can be confusing. I think the best thing to do is when you get to the ferry terminal, instead of chatting with the rickshaw hawkers, take one of the free casino shuttle buses. Look at a map and see what casino is closest to the area you want to go to. Take that casino bus, walk out of the casino when you arrive, and be on your way. That's what I did and there were no problems.
I took the shuttle to the Grand Lisboa and walked 5-10 mins to Senado Square, St Paul's ruins, and Macao Fort from there. Perfect!

Hi Heywinks,
actually we will not just go to casinos but to all tourist spots in macau. that's why we would need to know all bus transportation in macau. =) we would go to different places like Senado Square, temple of A-ma, San Luca Canal etc. Thanks! =)

HI!
There are only taxis and public buses in Macau. For short distance travel on the peninsula, it's a flat rate of 2.50 patacas per trip regardless of distance by public buses. It will cost more to go to the 2 other islands.

I didn't go into the casinos (I don't gamble) but just used their free shuttle buses to get around Macao. That was my point. When I was across the bay in Taipa, I used the Venetian Casino shuttle to get back to the ferry port. Beats taking the bus. Faster and free.

Mabuhay! Dawn:
You can check my VT Macau page for more info. Also, the free city map they gave at the airport and ferry terminal will have bus numbers on them.
