How much is the shuttle and how often does it run? Can you get around Hobart easily without a car? If I want to also see muse3ums and the town sites is one day enough? We are coming in winter.

I think there are privately run shuttle services to Richmond but these are rather expensive IMO at AUD 25.00 per passenger.

You can go by Tassielink (Tigerline) coach which would be a lot cheaper. These buses leave from the corner of Elizabeth and Macquarie Streets at 8.30am and 12 noon. It is a thirty five minute trip. www.tigerline.com.au/timetables/Richmond-Campania with give you all the information you need.

Hobart and its suburbs are pretty well serviced by Metro Tasmania Bus Service. If you enquire at the Metro Shop in the Post Office in Elizabeth Street (Bus Station) they will help you with timetables and bus numbers etc.

You would need at least two days to see Hobart properly. Its a small city but has a lot of historical sites. If you are coming in winter, bring a warm coat. The wind can be very cold. They may be snow on Mount Wellington above Hobart but it is rare to see snow in the city centre itself.
