| Penang | How much has it changed over the last 8 years?????? Posted: Mon June 2, 2008 11:17 AM UTC
We have been travelling to various destinations throughout SE Asia for years, but we haven't been back to Penang for at least 8 years (last time there was March 2000)....We are considering going back there soon but are curious as to whether there has been much development or change in the last 8 years. can we expect to find many different things compared to our last trip?

Honestly, 8 years, Penang has not changed that much. A few new and big shopping malls. There is the bridge that links the island to the mainland which gets lots of traffic during the peak hours. It will be great if public transport is more convienent. Food is still good and reasonable priced.

Penang is still a laid back place. More traffic during rush hours and school hours. New shopping malls are Gurney Plaza, Queensbay Mall, Prangin Mall. Welcome back to Penang :)

We've been for the last 5 years and there has been lots of new apartments built but Batu Ferringhi is hardly changed a few restuarants closed but some new ones opened.It's still a cheap place to go and the food is still as good .
