Hi!
I and my husband Hiro and my mother Takako will visit Zagreb on August 15th Friday. We would love to meet locals or travellers in Zagreb :-) Why don't you meet up and chat over dinner (or a cup of coffee) together? Our schedule August 15th Friday afternoon, we will arrive at Zagreb airport (from Dubrovnik) August 16th Saturday morning, we will leave Zagreb for Japan We are really looking forward to hearing from you! August 15 is the Assumption of Mary day (we call it Velika Gospa), one of the most important holidays in Croatia with festivals, traditional family reunions and religious gathering all over the country – meaning almost everything that day will be closed. Still a café or two should be working…

Thanks for your information. Oh, it is the day for family reunion... it seems difficult to meet up with local people... Hopefully we would like to see some festivals there. Almost all restaurants will be closed on that day? Thanks Ayurin

I really think very few will be open – if any (just my guess , cannot remember the last time I was in Zagreb on that day). But if I'll be around this year would be glad to meet. Perhaps “festival” is not the right word for what we call proštenje, it’s more like a pilgrimage + holy mass with lot of people + fair with traditional souvenirs, food etc

Thanks for your reply. Yes, if you are in Zagreb and free on August 15, let's meet up :-) Let's keep in contact. About restaurants and cafeterias, I guess,restaurants inside hotels may be open...??? By the way, I noticed that you and I(Ayurin) are same age :-) Hope to see you. Ayurin
