You mean the old US Army Base? It looks like it was closed years ago...

I haven't found a stret address, but I did find an army website (which appears to be a forum), that locates the old base on a map, along with some old photos - see http://www.usarmygermany.com/Units/SETAF%20Units/USAREUR_SETAF%201.htm#Passa

Hmmmn, I am not sure if the circle on the map is accurate...the circle would put it on the north side of the river from the city center of Verona, but if you follow the Google link on that webpage, you'll see that it's at the intersection of Via Francesco Torbido and Viale Universita', which is southeast of the city center, just west of the Verona Porta Vescovo train station...Francesco, does that sound right?

Thank both of you so much....I thought it was north, and I know it was next to a large crematorium....

Did you look at the Google photo...does that match the layout you remember?

Yes, Bill, you got it!

Look here: http://tinyurl.com/5hexyv

The old Passalacqua, going probably to become a sort of University campus, is north from via Francesco Torbido (the grenn you see is the tob of the old venetian/austrian fortification) and east from Viale Università.

Quite a big complex, now nearly in the center of the city.

Ciao!
Francesco

Ooppss we were all writing together. Yes, there is the main Verona monumenta cemetery quite close. You see it as a big square just SW from the Passalacqua.

Sadly, I can't claim to live in Verona, but Francesco does and is a great ambassador for his home town (I lived in Rome myself, but Francesco still speaks to me anyway ;-) )
