| Los Angeles | Airport to hotel - the best way? Posted: Sun June 1, 2008 12:11 PM UTC
I am flying into Los Angeles on a quick stop over from London to New Zealand. I am staying in Anaheim, South Clementine St if that helps. NOt sure how to get there from the airport. It will be after a long flight so don't want to have to mess around too much.
I have been recommended www.supershuttle.com, but just wanted to make sure it was the best deal. Does anyone have any other options? It's just me on my own Thanks |

Hi Amy,
In theory, Supershuttle is the way to go but Anaheim is bit of a distance from LAX so the shuttle does not get filled very quickly and they won't send a shuttle all the way there if it is not full. Last time I was there I waited for an hour before giving up and taking a cab. The people at supershuttle kept telling me one was coming in five minutes but it never did. The taxi cost me about 60$ (3 years ago). Just thought I'd let you know in case you ran into a similar situation. Nice trip.

I assume your flight will land and depart from LAX. If you have the option, and if you are going to only be in LA for a brief sleeping stopover, you might wish to cancel your Anaheim hotel reservation. You could go to the LAX web site. I'm sure they will probably have a list of hotels providing free shuttles to and from the airport. You would save yourself a bit of money, and quite a bit of time that way. Gary

Hi
I whole heartedly agree, there are so many hotels near the airport - I found this URL for the hotels near Los Angeles airport - http://losangeles.airporthotelguide.com/map.html

You can look at the following web page for LAX-Anaheim transport information: http://anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10258.asp. If you can't cancel the hotel you might wish to look at the following web site for the Disney express shuttle from LAX to the resort. You could then catch a hotel shuttle, or a much shorter, cheaper cab, or shuttle, ride: http://graylineanaheim.com/airport_info.cfm. Gary

How long is your quick stop over? If for at least 24 hours, then head for Anaheim (Disneyland), 45 minutes to a 1 hour drive in good traffic. If not, take the advice and stay closer in to LAX like Santa Monica. Santa Monica is a beach city and is only 15-20 minutes away with walkable shopping and dining (a great English Pub, Ye Olde King's Head) near the motel/hotels. If only a few hours, stay in the airport area.

I'm staying for 4 nights, and am staying at that hotel because I am meeting up with family who are there for 2 weeks.

I think I would check on the Disney shuttle then. It seems to be the cheapest by far, and does run on somewhat of a schedule. Enjoy Anaheim ! Gary

Supershuttle is the best way, if you are not driving. It is only about an one hour drive to the Disneyland area. Staying at La Quinta or the other hotels on S. Clementine St. and the shuttle service will take you right to the entrance to your hotel. Cost should not be more than $40 dollars round trip including tip. BTW, make your reservation before you arrive at LAX to assure prompt service from curbside air terminal. No messing around this way. Door to door, is always worry free. Enjoy your stay.

Make them come get you! Just kidding, I have used the Super Shuttle and it worked just fine. Make a reservation if you want, but that is a major route for them so you can usually walk out to the booth and get a seat.
