| Ayia Napa | amount of brits holidaying in ayia napa Posted: Sun June 1, 2008 10:32 AM UTC
i just got home from a weeks holiday on the 31st may 2008. the place was full of scandinavians and eastern europeans but brits were very scarce compared to when i was there for the same week 2 years ago. i take it to be because of this so called credit crunch and the weak pound against the strong euro. has anyone else noticed this?

Surprising indeed, but I don't think it's due to the current crisis, or "credit crunch" as I'm sure it affects pretty much everyone in Europe. Maybe AN's dodgy reputation in Britain has mor eto do with it. The party season has not properly started either, that could partly explain what you experienced. Don't British families tend to prefer Paphos and Protaras over AN?

No Brits in Agia Napa ?? You must have been very unluckly not to meet any. Although more and more Russians come each year, Agia Napa is still firmly in the hands of British tourists most of the time.
