Being a pale pasty Londoner, I need a sunshade when I go to the beach. Does anyone know whether I will be able to hire them on the beach or whether I will need to purchase one from a shop?

I don't remember seeing any organized rental efforts. And, I don't recall any shops near the promenade either.
I think that there's a second beach on the other side of the old town that I have not seen. You need to check with your hotel. English is spoken widely and the food is the best!

i dont know if you'll be able to hire one, but im sure you can buy them for less than 10€ in one of these 'everything for 1€' shops. and those shops are everywhere. so dont let that make you worried :)
