| Xi'an | Quake aftershock in Xian? Posted: Sun June 1, 2008 04:57 AM UTC
My wife and I from Brisbane, Australia are planning to visit Xian from June 18th for a few days with relatives from Zhuhai but they have said there is damage from aftershocks and the government is advising people not to go there. Does anyone know the true conditions for Xian as I have not seen anything in the news for the area?
Any reply would be appreciated. Thanks Chris |

Chris -
There have been aftershocks there, but damage is really not an issue, especially in the city proper. A couple weeks ago the government was advising that people in Xi'an sleep outdoors at night as a precaution, but things are returning to normal. I think by June 18 travel there will not be an issue at all, to the extent that it even is now. Best crewrower

In this case, no news is good news. I don't think Xi'an is really affected much by aftershocks.

Should be fine by the 18th. Was there a week and a half back and was made to sleep outside of my hotel because the local govt gave an aftershock warning.
Would be unlikely to anything to happen to you however.
