| Vienna | Good music store Posted: Fri May 30, 2008 08:26 PM UTC
Hey everyone. Whenever I go to a new city/country, I like to find a cool record store and buy something from a local artist (whether from that city specifically or just that country). I'm pretty open to anything, but if anyone knows of a place that would have punk/rock/hip hop, that would be cool. I would be interested in traditional music as well. If not, any record store will do! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you in advance :)

Hi Karlie,
Now you have lots of record stores to choose from, which is great. Unfortunately I am not an expert on Austrian music. And if you like punk, rock, hip hop and traditional music as well, You still have a lot to choose from. I think the people who work in one of those shops will be pleased to give you advise and tell you wat the best Austrian hiphoppers are, for instance. I don't know if you understand Austrian, but living in a non-German speaking country, I like Austrian rockband Die Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung a lot. They had lots of succes in the 70's and 80's and are still touring. Even if you don't understand a word of german/austrian, they make exciting and melodical popmusic, with funny, cabaret-like lyrics. And they definitely sing in the austrian language. Best thing, if you want to give it a try, is to buy a double album with their biggest hits. Enjoy your time in Wien, Arni.
