Santiago Do buses to Mendoza run every day in Winter?
Posted: Fri May 30, 2008 06:03 AM UTC
We are flying to Santiago in the Chilean winter, we want to ride a bus to Mendoza and on to Córdoba on August 3 or 4, and back on August 30.
Want to make sure buses from Santiago to Mendoza and back run every day even in the heart of the winter?
Otherwise, what flights?
Anyone has a reliable tip on this? Thanks.

The buses run every day when the pass isn't closed by snow/ice. It has been closed a lot so far this year. This is not a good option in winter if you have any sort of schedule to keep as it can close for days. It is simply too unpredictable. LAN flies between Santiago and Mendoza or Cordoba. www.lan.com

You should not bank on the pass being open every day in winter. If it's not blocked by snow, buses will run, but when I spent the winter in STGO back in '04 it was closed about 1 day a week on average in winter.
