Hi,could any one please give me some details, and the best places to go for good priced food and drink in Kamari.Me and the misses have just booked togo to Kamari in July 2008,we have been to loads of greek islands over the past 10 years and thought we would push the boat out this year with me being 30 aday before we go.A lot of people have said that santorini is quite expensive in regards to going out (and i do like the odd drink on holiday)if anybody could give abit of info it would be abig help.

P.S
Does any body know what the ANGYRA STUDIOS AND APPT in Kamari is like?

Many thanks Shaun

hello Shaun
can't comment on the studios but we have just returned from a stay in Kamari.
It takes about 10-15 mins to walk from end to the other and we tried a few restaurants. We were at the end furthest from the rock which separates Kamari from Perissa. We ate at Almira restaurant and Seaside restaurant - about 35-45 euros for a meal for two for 2 courses (selection of mezes and a main course)Most restaurants and cafes have a lovely beachside setting. Plenty to choose from - lots offer set meals for 2 eg greek plate with salad for about 20 euros.
Posidon restaurant (towards rock) we enjoyed mixed grill with chips and jacket potato for 20 euros for 2. Almost at the end of the prom towards the rock end is NAVY - their meals were good plates and reasonable value.
Cocktails in cafes were about 4-6 euros each. Just stroll along (menus are on display)and see what takes your fancy - you will be spolilt for choice. I thought if they looked busy then that was a good sign of good food
Hope that helps - I'll be writing my page tips soon but there ae good reviews on VT already
