We are arriving at Carcassone Airport and wish to travel to Cap D,Agde.
Is the train the best and least expensive way to travel and if so how do we get to the train station from the Airport. Any suggestions would be much appreciated |

There is a shuttle bus outside the airport in Carcasonne which takes you right to the train station, the airport is tiny so you can't miss it. You'll have to check out the train timetables for onward connections, sorry can't advise you about that.

Hi,
A lot depends on the time you're arriving in Carcassonne. There are trains from 8.30 on. There are direct Ter trains that take 1H03 mins - cost 30 euros, also others where you change in Beziers or Narbonne and take longer but are cheaper. Check out the french railway site - www.sncf.com with your dates and timings.

OK I can't comment on travel, but I can comment on Cap d Agde having gone there for just on 30 years - last year was our last. It is simply a place for swingers and sex sex quite literally on the beach from the dunes to the sea from first light to midnight - there are plenty of better places to visit along the beaches of the Languedoc!

It's really easy to get Cap D'Agde via train from Carcassone - and inexpensive.
Single trip can be as low as 11 euros (with only an extra 10 minutes on journey). Train arrives at Agde railway station, then very frequent buses outside Agde station to Cap D'Agde. I've done this journey many times, it's a doddle! You don't need to pre book, just buy your ticket when you get to the train station (you will pay a little bit more but you gain total flexibility). Ticket can be purchased from fast ticket machine which gives English as an option, so you don't even need to speak French. Just make sure you remember to validate your ticket before you get onto the train (machines dotted around the station). Can't agree with LadyMarian1 on swingers and sex in Cap D'agde. I've only been going there for 15 years (and with young children). Apart from topless ladies on beaches (just like lots of other beach resorts in the Med)I've never seen anything remotely offensive. If I hadn't seen the stuff on the internet I wouldn't have known anything about the swingers! Enjoy!
