Some advice please
When is best to stay in Istanbul?
What is the cheapest way to get flights from UK?
I have been told Istabul is amazing but dont want to go when its too cold or too hot would like warmth and sun.

Easyjet has very reasonable prices if you book well in advance. As do Turkish Airlines.

easy jets lands at Sabiha Gokcen.Turkish airlines is not that cheap except if you fly after october.

KTHY( kibris turk hava yollari) flies from gatwick or heathrow to Istanbul on the way to Ercan(north of Cyprus), but I prefer turkish airlines.

Definitely spring or summer. Cold in winter - 30-35c in summer.

Last time I looked (just a few days ago)KLM was best from UK regional airport. £250 return in July through its website.

I found good hotel plus flight packages using lastminute.com with various airlines. The combination we chose in the end turned out to be very good value.

Although I went in November (it's certainly cold then!), I'd been checking earlier in the year and you can find decent prices earlier if you're flexible. I saw returns for under £200.

It's worth looking at the Turkish Airlines website as they have offers all the time with the destinations varying. Some are only available from Istanbul, however. Turkish flies from Manchester too, meaning it's very convenient for those of us who don't live in the south.

have just spent 3 weeks around turkey, when in istanbul we moved around a bit and stayed at a few different hotels but all of them were in the tourist area sultanahmet area and all in central locations. For budget try AND hotel, rooms are pretty basic but views from roomtop restaurant is excellent, its located just around the corner from the Bascillica Cistern (about 8meters), the Hatay hotel is also in a good location but halfway between sultanahmet and the ferry terminals near the Galata bridge. Otherwise for a little bit of luxery and fantastic breakfasts try Celal Sultan next street down from the AND hotel. Hope that helps. We took Onourair for our internal flights around turkey and they were fine.
