| Prague | Some czech help, please Posted: Thu May 29, 2008 10:02 AM UTC
We want to get the bus to Terezin and I believe it goes from Florenc station. I may need some help finding the bus and getting tickets so if anyone could translate the following questions, it would help greatly. Please, no jokes, I don't want to be saying rude things in Czech!!
1. Can you help me please. 2. Where do I get the bus to Terezin. 3. I want to buy two return tickets to Terezin 4. What times are the buses leaving Terezin to return to Prague. 5. Does the return bus go from here or from a different place. |

You will be succeed in getting a ticket in Florenc Bus Station.
There is no direct bus from Prague to Terezin. You may use some lines that will pass to another cities/villages. You may question to the clerk which is the proceedings in order to buy return tickets. I am sending below a link with bus timetable: http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/ConnRes.asp?tt=J&p= http://www.mapy.cz/#x=135528448@y=137641984@z=7@mm=ZP http://www.pamatnik-terezin.cz/showdoc.do?docid=217 http://www.livingprague.com/httimetable.htm Cassiovieggore

Yes, buses go from Florenc station (metro B, C). There are quite many direct buses. Check www.idos.cz, choose the "Terezin (LT)", there is also another village with same name. Buses go every 30 - 60 mins.
1)Muzete mi pomoci? 2)Odkud jede autobus do Terezina? 3)Chtel bych 2 zpatecni jizdenky do Terezina. 4) V kolik hodin odjizdeji autobusy zpet z Terezina do Prahy? 5)Jede autobus zpet odtud nebo od jinud? Buy your tickets in the bus, there are buses of various companies and no return tickets are usually sold. Bus lines to Usti nad Labem and Litomerice stop in Terezin.

I wouldnt worry about having to ask in czech as there will almost certainly be at least 1 person at the ticket office who will speak passable English. To be on the safe side just write Terezin on a piece of paper and show it at the desk and they'll know what you mean. Do you have to go by bus? Is there a train? Ive travelled by train from Prague and the personel at both the enquiries desk and ticket office had no trouble understanding me and my czech is non existant. Florenc station is easy to find. Just check the maps found on most metro stations.

It seems Terezin has no railway station so bus is the only option. Have a look at the VT Terezin forum theres some interesting dialogue on there.

Bus is the only option. On assorted sites we learned that after the 1530 bus from Litomerice the service gets pretty spotty so that is the bus on which you probably wish to return to Prague. There are advantages and disadvantages to taking the bus yourself versus taking a guided tour - my transportation tip on Terezin outlines these.

There is a large directory and schedule at Florenc listing which platform ( they are numbered ) you catch a bus to your destination at. There is a complete list of departure times. Buy your ticket from the driver to avoid the BS and long lines at the ticket windows. I wouldn't bother with learning the Czech phrases because you will probably mis pronounce them, and will not understand the answer given in Czech. By the way, nobody answering these forums will teach you to say rude things in Czech.
