I've stayed here ... twice! In fact, I wonder if I'm the only one on VT who has?!?

There is a small dirt airport near Santa Rosalia but most people fly into Loreto and then drive up with a pre-arranged taxi. There are a few motels in town but I don't remember the names of them.

Santa Rosalia has a somewhat different history than the rest of Baja California because of a unique event that occurred in World War One: http://www.baja.com/lugares/bajacalifornia/info_santarosallia.htm

By the way, Santa Rosalia has THE BEST shrimp tacos I've ever had in my life!

Pauline,

Why are you so fixated on Santa Rosalia? There are many towns in Baja California. Why this one?

I don't know the cost of the taxi because the company I was working for paid for it.

I think Baja California is a pretty safe place to travel though it is a rural part of Mexico so you should take the usual precautions.

Thank you again Robert,
You have been so helpful! i do not expect folks to understand my choice of places i am about to visit when there are spiritual reasons involved. So, as you see, my reasons are not always the common ones. Lets just say it has to do with the french connection LOL! You have been great and i enjoy your open thoughts and questions. i asked about the cab as i have traveled a number of 3rd world type spots and i have learned to be wise going in, so it is for cautions sake i ask such questions. any more help with experience there is welcome.
be blessed
