Re: which train station to select Posted: Wed May 28, 2008 06:16 AM UTC
In Paris, the station for Lyon is undoubtedly Gare de Lyon.
In Lyon, the SNCF website is misleading. It proposes either "Lyon" or "Lyon Saint Exupéry TGV".
Actually, "Lyon" amazingly means either "Lyon Perrache" (old city center station) or "Lyon Part Dieu" (new station just out of the old center). All TGV go to Part Dieu. Some go on to Perrache (+12 minutes, which includes the stop in Part Dieu). Then, you have better chose Lyon Part Dieu to meet your niece.
"Lyon Saint Exupéry TGV" is not really in Lyon. It is 20km away, in the airport. There are much less trains going to Saint Exupery. However, if you drive a car, may be you can chose Saint Exupéry, where it is easy to park.
