You might wish to look at the web site for the Euro 2008 football championships: www.euro2008.uefa.com. The tournament will be held in both Austria and Switzerland in June. You might just want to check to make sure you don't overly complicate your trip by travelling into an area on a game day. Gary

Hi
Check out: http://www.oebb.at/en/ Austrian railways have a ticket special called SparSchiene where you can get tickets to, say Zurich, for 29 Euros but you need to book fast as they sell out quickly. You can do this on-line. There are also other discount tickets available, especially if under 26 but you may need to buy a VORTEILScard which from memory costs about 19 euros for under 26. This will give you 50% off. It may be that if you are only doing the one journey (Vienna -Zurich) then the SparSchiene may be best. Hope this helps, John

If you think of taking a plane, there's a least one cheap carrier (Niki), but you should buy tickets ASAP. Go to checkfelix.com and see what you can get.
For the train, it's probably OK to book once you're here.

The tickets were greatly over-subscribed. The national organizations received allocations of about 20 per cent of the tickets for their fixtures, but I'm sure those are probably gone as well. Gary
