Re: Current Weather - W/C 26th May Posted: Wed May 28, 2008 11:54 AM UTC
In May and June, the weather should be hot and dry. Allas, this year we're having the coldest and wettest May I've ever remember. It's not normal, but the weather has not been normal in the last years:
August 2003 - the hottest Summer ever, well over 40ºs Celsius all over Portugal
June/July 2004 - Heatwave
Winter 2004/05 - Drought. One of the driest winters ever recorded
January 2006 - One day with snow all over Portugal. Hadn't snowed in Lisbon since the 1950's
Winter 2006 - Another day with snow
August 2007 - One of the chilliest and windiest Summers ever. Strong northern gales, making it chillier in Portugal than in Scandinavia and East Europe.
Anyway, as far as I see from Lisbon, it isn't always cloudy, let alone rainy. There are many periods of sunshine, where the temperature warms up a lot. Albufeira, being 300km south of Lisbon is a bit warmer and drier.
