Amsterdam bggage storage at Amstel station
Posted: Mon May 26, 2008 04:39 PM UTC
I will be arriving in at the Amsterdam airport at about 9:00 and will be leaving from the Amstel bus station at 15:45 on the same day. Are there baggage storage facilities at either the train station or bus staion?

Hi,

I am not for 100% sure, but it seems there are no lockers at Amstel (Train) Station. At least, they are not listed among the facilities:

Hopefully somebody else will give a definite answer...

Cheers
Dennis

There are luggage lockers at Amsterdam Airport (aka Schiphol). It would be easiest to leave your luggage here, so that you can travel lightly to Amsterdam.

See here:

In case you want to see a bit of Amsterdam in the time between arrival at Schiphol Airport(0900) and departure from Amstel Station (1545), in my opinion it would be best to travel to Amsterdam Central station (about 15 min), and store your luggage there (provided there are no lockers at Amstel Station).

You can visit Amsterdam, e.g. do a canal trip or whatever you want, pick up your luggage again and take a metro (51, 53 or 54) or train to Amstel station (10 minutes).

The connection between Schiphol Airport and Amstel station is about 20-30 minutes and involves a transfer.

There are no baggage lockers at the Amstel Station (info www.ns.nl).

General info at: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/tp/1b2f24

Using the Central Station facilities seems the best option.

I also have confirmed that there are no lockers since the renovation of the Amstel Station (information comes from Eurolines international buses).

BTW, I saw your name in the Skopje forum as well...I'll have some updates on my Skopje pages the coming weeks!
