I'm not an expert on Scandinavia but I've recently checked some connections in southern Sweden and I think that bus should be the cheapest way of transportation from Oslo to Stockholm. Check www.swebusexpress.se . Tickets from 230 SEK one way and even cheaper if you have a student card. However, you did not say when you want to travel. If you book well in advance the Swedish train company has got some great offers. Check www.sj.se. The only problem you could have with the Swedish train company is that they don't offer self printout e-tickets and you will have to collect your tickets at a station. You could easily do this at any station in Sweden, but I'm not sure if it works for Oslo.

well the cheapest should be the bus, but not always is. so i'd check all the other options too.
säfflebussen is another bus company and they often have the cheapest prices. this is their website http://saffle.cd-buss.se/Saffle/start.asp it's in swedish but there's nothing impossible when one has a dictionary (if you need one: http://lexin2.nada.kth.se/sve-eng.html). In brief, in green there's the price of the ticket if you buy it on the departure day. in red the price if you buy it 24h in advance, and in yellow for 48h. I would also have a look at the train webpage address in the post above. Can't recall which one it was so i'm posting both again. http://www.nsb.no/ (norwegian train) www.sj.se/ (swedish train) sometimes the train have offers, that you can only get if you book online, and are quite good deals. i wouldnt discard the plane either, it's a lot much faster and, if you're lucky, not that much more expensive. you can check with flynordic or norwegian companies. also SAS but that one is usually more expensive.

With all 3 means of transportation, the earlier you book your ticket the cheaper it will be. Consider that in red days in either country can mean fewer departures.

I'm not sure which would be cheapest, but for flight options, check out www.harefares.com.

It's hard to beat the low cost airlines. Try:
www.norwegian.no Choose the low fare calender and you can find prices as cheap as NOK 214,- (€28) Click on the little flags for choice of language..

Hey there. Many thanks for the information. I just dare to ask, don't you have a promo code for booking the ticket on this website by some accident????
http://ip.norwegian.no/ip/FareCalendarExecAction.a That would be great:D.

Promotional code. Sometimes when airlines have offers they say "write code XYZ123 to take advantage of this offer".
I don't have any and as far as I know there aren't such codes when it's a big weekend here, in this case 20-22 June.
