Flight frm Rotterdam in morning

Hi,
We need to catch a flight from rotterdam to Rome on saturday early morning, we are currently in amsterdam. Are there buses/ trains that run through out the night or should we look to stay in rotterdam on friday to do the same?

Depends on how early. What time do you need to be at Rotterdam airport?

The earliest you can get to Rotterdam Airport is 6.50 am.
That means leaving Amsterdam Central station at 4.42 am, where you arrive at 5.45 am.
At Rotterdam Central station you take bus 33 at 6.30 am, direction Rotterdam Airport.
Or you can take a taxi, but the travel time will be approx the same (15 minutes more or less).

Let me correct myself. There are earlier busses. Line 33 leaves Rotterdam airport at 6 am, and after that each 10 minutes. That means the earliest you can be at Rotterdam airport is not 6.50 am but 6.20 am !

Trains from Amsterdam to Rotterdam run all through the night. See www.ns.nl
It appears that buses to the airport run early too:

So it apears that getting there would be possible, but it would require you to start quite early in Amsterdam.

The Transvia flight leaves at 7.00 from RTM.

Train AMS to RTM: see www.ns.nl :
dep 2.42 arr 3.56/bus to airport lv 4.10 arr airport 4.25
or one hour later.:
train 3.42-4.54/bus 5.10 arr 5.25

Generally, you don't need to be very early for your flight at Rotterdam Airport. Not the full usual 2 hours. Rotterdam Airport is small and checkin is quick. I usually arrive there one hour before departure.

no no, it's good. Excellent reply, Noel (and KVB). 9292ov.nl gave this time as the earliest, but looking at the rail website and the Rotterdam Airport website, there are earlier possibilities.

That aside, it is always nice to spend a night in Rotterdam... :-)
