| Baguio | Livin' and Hikin' Tam-awan style Posted: Sun May 25, 2008 05:08 PM UTC
Hi fellow VTers,
Has anyone stayed in Tam-awan Village? What would you say to: 1) How long does it take to hike up(and down) the trail? 2) Are the huts ok to sleep in? 3) Is there a hut with a working hearth in it? How many peeps can it accomodate? Thanks in advance for your advise =) |

Hi,
1. Tam-awan is not that big a place. Getting around should not take you 30 minutes. 2. Based on what we saw (I visited the place last April), there were mattresses placed in the huts. Depends on how many people are staying. The mattress is about 3 in. thick (i think) and with beddings already. 3. Not sure about the hearth, but I think I saw some gas lamps provided. 4. When we were there visiting, there was a group of Malaysians, 6 adults, who stayed in one hut. Each of the huts have their own toilets. But these are obviously located outside the huts :). Most of the huts are kept padlocked when not in use because people there say that a lot of outsiders have vandalized the area. Hope this helps!
