| Salzburg | help with a special present Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 12:31 PM UTC
Can you help me in finding a good bakery in Salzburg that offers personalised heartshaped cakes that can be written "Ich liebe dich" on the front? Am planning a trip in late June and keen to find the right place that offers this.
Thanx x |

Hi,
you might get your present at Wachszieherei & Lebzelterei Johann Nagy & Söhne Sterneckstraße 22 A-5020 Salzburg to my knowledge the only company specialising in those kind of cakes (called "Lebkuchenherzen" in german). It offers 40 different kind, so you should find it there.Send a mail to office@nagy.at they certainly speak english! Greetings!

Do not expect too much of a culinary delight of those gingerbread hearts. They are more made to last than to be super delicious. You cannot compare them to a cake. It is unfortunate that you travel at this time of the year. Otherwise (before Christmas) I would recommend to buy the really delicious Lebkuchen in the supermarket, like Weissella, Contessa, etc... LOL Already the thought of those makes my mouth water.
But in Munich and Nürnberg (Nuremberg) they sell Lebkuchen year-round in specialty shops. If I remember right there is a Christmas shop in Salzburg (and also an Easter shop), near Mozart Square, in the lane in which Mozart's birthplace is.
