Madrid Bullfight Info In Case It Rains
Posted: Thu May 22, 2008 01:47 PM UTC
I have tickets to a bullfight Sunday night in Madrid. Can anyone tell me...does it go on whether there is rain or shine or is it likely to be canceled. If you have any info on this, I would appreciate so I am more knowledgeable as to what to expect in case it rains.

Relax.
I am not 100% sure, but almost sure that Madrid bullfight arena has a mobile-roof they use in case it rains. Not what the experts like most, but very usefull!

Some bullfights arenas in spain do have that roof.

This sunday is likey to rain in MAdrid
http://forum.virtualtourist.com/answer.php?q=422602&p=1&l=262020&pp=d

and Las Ventas bullring haven't any mobile roof, some parts are covered, but most of it is not.

Take with you a raincoat, or buy it there.
Unless it rains cats and dogs, the bullfight won't be canceled.

Hi Koke AC:

It's better get some wetness in Madrid instead of bull horn at San Firmino day in Pamplona... You are already in Spain!..
I didn't read nothing concerned in rainy bullfight day in Madrid. However I am sending some links to you:

http://www.las-ventas.com/prensa/taurotour/ingles.pdf

http://www.las-ventas.com/

There is another Plazza de Toros in Madrid called Vistalegre. I don't know each one you will be next sunday.

I suggest you may use the phone number 91.556-9237, or, 689.370.972 to get some piece of information concerned in rain shelter. These phone numbers were at Las-Ventas site.

She had already tickets for bullfights, so the choice of going to a bullfgiht or not was done.

and ..

"there is another Plazza de Toros in Madrid called Vistalegre. I don't know each one you will be next sunday. "

Vistalegre is covered, yes, as well as 'La cubierta' in Leganes, but there is currently San Isidro fair, so i assumed she had tickets for Las Ventas.

We are here and went to the bullfight. The weather ended up being perfect. The bullfight was a different experience but enjoyed it greatly. I wanted to see something that appears to be such a big part of the Spanish culture. I appreciate all your help. You are what makes VT sooooo great. Muchas gracias.

well in fact it is not a big part of the spanish culture, in fact most of spanish people is in disagreement with the bullfight and most of people think it is a cruel an a barbarian costum. And bullfights are more typical in only some parts of Spain, in the other ones it have no sense, for example you will not see bullfights in Galicia since they don't exists there.
