| Marrakesh | Looking for a hotel close to the train station Posted: Wed May 21, 2008 03:55 PM UTC
Hi Friends,
I am looking for suggestions for a hotel in Marrakech within walking distance to the Supratours bus station, We usually stay at the Ibis, but at 480Dh + breakfast, its a bit pricey. It will only be for one night so as long as it has a clean & comfortable bed and a bathroom we will be happy. It would also help if I can contact them by email, if not a telephone number will do. Thanks Sue |

hi, Ive got a tip with phone details of the Hotel Harti - was always only 330 dirham with breakfast for 2 for fairly good commercial hotel.
Otherwise as per my recommended places are all around the Djma Elfna area - including Hotel Islane which last year was 420 dirham for 2 with breakfast. My favourite is probably the Toulousain - 200 dirham for 2 with ensuite and breakfast but about 2 star - stay there and jump in a 15 dirham petite taxi to the station! All the best.

Thanks Angiebabe,
I am familiar with the Toulisan, but we arrive at 8pm and wanted to book the morning bus to Essaouira the same evening, The office closes at 9pm. If we take a petite taxi to the Ibis from the airport, then everything is hassle free. I was just looking to save some dirhams and not have to take another taxi to the station in the morning. Best Wishes

Youre welcome but looking at the price difference ,but you might mean youre looking at the time involved, that you could take about 10 taxis and still have change!

Yes, I agree, I was just looking for an easy time. But on balance the Toulisain is a better option and is also highly recommended by the Essaouira expats. I suppose one has to make sacrifices and on this occasion its location that I will forfeit.
Take Care Sue

In the end we shared a taxi directly from the airport to Essaouira, so didn't get to sample the Hotel Toulisain...
Here is the address 44 Rue Tarik Ben Ziad Gueliz Marrakech 40000 Morocco
