| Antalya | Travel between Antalya and Alanya Posted: Tue May 20, 2008 03:40 PM UTC
I am soo confused about the bus service from Antalya and Alanya. It seems there will be buses that leave every half hour or so. But these buses ar 4 km from my hotel in old town Antalya. I don't really want to take a taxi. Is there a service that will take me from the clock tower in old town to the otogar? Is this transfer a problem or easy and does it cost much? Is a dolmus and a minivan the same thing? Once at the bus station is is easy to find a bus to take me to Alanya? Do I book in advance? Once in Alanya will I need a minibus to get to the beach hotels? Will I have to go through the same procedure to get back? Is there a water taxi from Antalya to Alanya each day and if so is it expensive? I will have one small overnight bag. Thank you in advance for answers to part or all of my questions.

I remember that when I arrived to Antalya the bus company had a service taking me in to town for free. It is common among the biggest bus companies to have a free service from town to the otogar (bus station). They normally leave from outside the office in town. And in the office in town you can buy the ticket the day before. A dolmush and a mini bus is the same.

I recommend you to choose a few domestic bus company and find their city offices in Kale kapısı or Clock tower what you said. All bus companies have offices in the centre of the cities.
Ask them to what time depart their shudlle bus leave from centre to Bus Station. They will take you free to OTOGAR and you can cath an ALANYA bus. Cheers http://www.metroturizm.com.tr/EN/main.asp http://www.ulusoy.com.tr/eng/ http://ticket.varanturizm.com/scripts/cgiip4.exe/a

The bus companies that our friend neodue advice arrives at 07:00 early in the morning. They arrive to Alanya at 10:00. Normaly it is 2 hours but They stop at every town and hotel especially in high season leaving their passangers. They dont take passengers to Alanya becouse they are long distance busses.
Better ask your question to the reception of your hotel. The receptionist will give you the right advice. or they will give you a assistant who will show the bus office. Alanya has its special bus company that leavs every half hour or so. Alanya my beautiful Alanya The bus Otogar is in the middle of Alanya. There is no problem. You can return to Antalya when ever you wish. Whenmn will you be there? Vist my Alanya page. have a nice time in Antalya and Alanya Lee.

i advise you to choose the bus agents''Akdeniz Seyahat'' or ''Metro Turizm''.Because these agents have service stations near the clock tower that can take you to the otogar easily. It is free. You can find busses in every 30minutes to Alanya. It takes about 2,5 hours. It costs 8 euro. When you arrive alanya you can use services again. There are lots of hotels in the centrum.Don't be confused because transportation in turkey is very easy especially between antalya and alanya..Enjoy alanya..

My wife and I will visit between May 28 and June 11, 2008. The entire family, 7 of us, will stay at Alanya Pascha Bay for the first week. The others will then go home and my wife and I will stay another week. We will spend 2 nights in Antalya at the Alp Pasa, and attend the Aspendos Opera and Ballet Gala on June 7th. You have a beautiful country and even more beautiful family. Thank you for your help. Lee

Thanks Lee It is only allaturca Adam's Family. :))
1-Pasha Bay is not in Alanya. It is aprx. 10-15 kms away from Alanya on the main road Antalya-Alanya. Tell the host on the bus that you will jump in Pasha Bay. You need not travel until Alanya. 2- You can find every time minubus or bus to Alanya to or from Pasha 3- Ask the receptionist to reserve seats in bus to Antalya. They will do that. The bus will be at the door of the Pasha and will take your family to Antalya. It is a custom in Turkey. Have a nice time. Aspendos is a gooood idea.
