hello again,

i want to ask whether the cabs are available very early in the morning. This is because i have an early flight to catch ard 8am. will be from phuket town travelling to the airport..

1)can i easily get a cab in phuket town area at abt 4am? (need to be there by 6am, not sure how long the journey is)

2)how long does it take from phuket town to the airport by taking the cab?

3)is there an alternative transportation if cabs are not available?

4)how much would it cost me, just one passenger?

To get a cab at that time of the morning you should pre-book. Your guesthouse will have phone numbers of drivers who work with them regularly. You won't find cabs roaming around waiting to pick up random customers, and there is no regular, reliable alternative transportation unless you rent a car yourself and arrange with the rental agency to return it at the airport.

you need to pre-book the transport and that's what we did in May 08. We left the hotel at Karon at 6.30 am and reach the airport about 45 mins later.

We paid B600 for the driver, Sam. He was punctual and reliable. I would give you his email if you want.

btw, I dun think you need to take the cab at 4 am since your flight is 8 am.

5.30 am will be sufficient.

I agree, leaving your hostel will be fine up to 5.30am. I would probably say 5.15am to be on the safe side.
