HELP. I have booked a hotel in Segovia on Tuesday, May 27th and have booked a hotel in Salamanca on Wednesday, the 28th. I am having trouble finding transportation between Segovia and Salamanca. Is there is a train route? A bus company that takes that route? We will not be renting a car.

There are 5 rail solutions a day from Segovia to Salamanca, according to the German rail website www.bahn.de (I use this because the Renfe (Spain) website has become more useless every time they 'update' it).

Each solution has a change of train in Villalba de Guadarrama...essentially, you take a local train from Segovia towards Madrid, and you get off early, and catch a faster train leaving from Madrid out to Salamanca.

The various rail solution are 3 to 4.5 hours...you could drive it in 2.25 hours, which makes you wonder if a direct bus would be faster...but I don't know of one...maybe someone else will chime in...

Train option is not very good, as you need to do many km in the opposite direction in order to take the train from Madrid to Salamanca. But if you take two trains with not too much waiting time in Villalba it can be as fast as the bus option.

There is a direct bus from Segovia to Salamanca, but only a couple everyday.
