Train will be fastest, I should think.
http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/i will give you train times in English for all European cuntries. There are several trains, taking around 2 hours 40 (with one change). The Slovenian railway website: http://www.slo-zeleznice.si/en/ will refer you to Bahn.de for international trains, and will not give you the fare on their site as it's an international journey. You'll need to email them for the fare, I think.
