| Siena | Nice to Siena in September Posted: Mon May 19, 2008 08:26 AM UTC
This is second post about how to get from Nice to Siena and thanks to alucas, venice13, swissfondue and leics for their help on train travel between Nice and Siena. It certainly takes a long time by train for what is not that far in Km. I think I read of a tourist train that started in France and ran round the French and Italian rivieras, but perhaps I dreamt it.
I am looking at alternatives. For instance, is it possible to hire a car at Ventimiglia station? I can then drive to Siena, where I was planning to hire a car anyway! Many thanks for any tips or other ideas. |

I've had a look at one or two car-hire companies, and the nearest I can find to Ventimiglia are Herz and Europcar, both in San Remo - about 15km further along the coast, or Monte Carlo or Nice, back over the border. SO you might have to look around a bit further. Which country are you from ? Sometimes the specialist car-hire brokers like Holidayautos can do you a good deal and beat the major companies for price.
