Hello! I've never driven to Kathmandu from Dhaka but considering the situation - you are really brave!
1. Travel Permits: All you need is VISA, if you need that is. Make sure you got double/Multiple entry visa to Bangladesh and at least a single entry visa to India. If you're holding a passport that doesn't require a visa, then don't bother. 2. Taxes: Bangladesh to India and back should have a bit of travel tax. Don't know the exact amount but most probably 5-6 thousands Taka in total. There's many Bangladeshi who goes to India by bus. If you know any, ask them. You can also walk up to a travel agency and just ask them. I'd go to the bus service's office and ask cuz they are more friendly. There's Green Line near Dhanmandi 32 road - the one that connects to farmgate, you can talk to the Green Line people. It should take more than a day. Be very careful while you drive - the buses are killer in the so called highway. I guess there's a route from Jessor and one from Benapole - I can't advice on which one to take. All the best :)
