Kaiserslautern Travel Forum

Hello, I am going to Kaiserslautern but I believe it is difficult to get to from Frankfurt Hahn. There is a posting here as to how to get there from Frankfurt, but can anyone advice me on how to get there direct from the airport?

According to the airport's website there are shuttle buses not to Kaiserslautern but to Saarbrücken via Homburg train station. The fastest way will be taking this bus to Homburg and continuing by train.

Or you can take the bus to Mannheim and then the train to Kaiserslautern.

At Ramstein the bus stops at the Autohof, that's next to the Autobahnmeisterei. Here you have also the option to walk the 1 km to Landstuhl station.

The DB timetable won't displays prices for local public transport tickets to Kaiserslautern as the VRN tariff applies here.
Ramstein EUR 3,40/4,60 (depends on route)
Ludwigshafen EUR 8,00
Homburg - neither VRN nor VGS shows a price online

Forgot: VRN tickets are zone-to-zone tickets. You can travel with them to any train station or bus stop in Kaiserslautern.
